As a leading proponent of "Integral Judaism," Rabbi Heyn serves as a teacher, lecturer, and scholar-in-residence at synagogues, churches, and retreat centers. As a musician, he performs solo, with his band MAMASH, and as one of Cincinnati's Three Jewish Tenors.
Over the years, Rabbi Heyn has met and been influenced by teachers as diverse and renowned as the Dalai Lama and the Lubavitcher Rebbe. He spent a decade studying and practicing meditation in a San Francisco spiritual community. He then spent another decade studying and practicing the Kabbalah under the guidance of respected rabbis and scholars, including Professor Moshe Idel and Professor Arthur Green. His outlook has been profoundly shaped by Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and Ken Wilber to name a few. Rabbi Heyn lives in Cincinnati with his wife and three boys.
